LXX Psalm 85

A prayer of David

Bend your ear, Lord, and hear me because I am poor and have to work so hard.

Protect my life because I am holy. Save your servant, my God, the one who hopes in you.

Have mercy on me, Lord, because to you I will call out all day long.

You make the life of your servant happy because to you, Lord, I lifted my life, because you, Lord, are kind and patient and so merciful to all those who call on you.

Give ear, Lord, to my prayer and pay attention to the sound of my request.

In the day of my distress I called out to you because you had listened me.

There is no one like you among the gods, Lord, and no works are like yours.

All the nations, which you have made, will come and worship before you, Lord, and they will glorify your name because you are great and do marvelous things. You are the only great God.

Lead me, Lord, in your way, and I will walk in your truth. Let my heart be happy to fear your name.

I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify your name forever because your mercy rests heavy upon me, and you delivered my soul from the lowest realm of Hades.

God, lawless men rose up against me, and a group of strong men sought my life and paid no regard to you.

And you, Lord God, are compassionate and sympathetic; you take a beating and are so merciful and trustworthy.

Look at me, have mercy on me, give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maid.

Use me as a sign for good, and may those who hate me be seen and put to shame because you, Lord, helped me and comforted me.
